The School of Cyber Science and Technology (SCST) at Zhejiang University was established in April 2019, as the planned expansion of the Institute of Cyberspace Research (ICSR). Our mission is to secure cyberspace with innovative ideas of real-world impacts and application systems of substantial practicality.
Currently, we have more than 20 faculty members, over 150 Ph.D. and master students in six research areas, i.e., data security, IoT security, system security, AI security, blockchain security, and network security. We offer the Cyberspace Security international graduate program with 12 English-based graduate-level courses, including 4 core courses, and 8 elective courses. SCST is well funded by the national and provincial funding agencies through many key projects. SCST has also established close research collaborations both with worldwide universities and the industrial-leading companies, including Huawei, Alibaba, Ant Group, etc.
SCST is located inside the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University, which is less than a mile away from the famous Westlake. Hangzhou, also called “the City of Heaven”, has been consistently ranked among the Top 3 most attractive Chinese cities for foreigners. Hangzhou has a vibrant economy, and the local companies include the e-commerce giant Alibaba, Ant Group, and NetEase. It is also home to venture capital funds, big-data firms, and hundreds of technology-linked companies. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about SCST and our University.
