School of Cyber Science and Technology Won the Runner-Up Award at the 4th "NetDing Cup"

On November 25th, the 4th NetDing Cup Cybersecurity Competition, known as the Olympics of Cybersecurity, concluded successfully. Guided by teacher Li Song from the chool of Cyber Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, a team comprising members of the Student Cyberspace Security Association including Cao Weisi and Sun Pengyu, among others, advanced to the finals with a second-place finish in the Xuanwu group semifinals. Ultimately, they distinguished themselves among the 60 finalist teams, securing the runner-up award with solid professional skills and cohesive teamwork.

The 4th NetDing Cup was jointly guided by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education, co-hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Public Security Department and the Guiyang Municipal Government, and supported by the National Network and Information Security Information Notification Center, the Education Management Information Center of the Ministry of Education, and the Teaching Steering Committee for the Cybersecurity discipline. It was organized by the First Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security.

As a national-level cybersecurity event, the NetDing Cup comprehensively covers all areas including government, industry, academia, research, and application, attracting over 30,000 teams and nearly 70,000 participants nationwide, setting a record for the largest number of participants in its history and also making it the largest event of its kind. The competition topics encompass cutting-edge technological fields such as data security, 5G security, IoT security, and vehicle networking security. With the joint efforts of all participants, the ZJU NetSec team won the runner-up award with a total score ranking third, fully demonstrating their flexible on-site adaptability and robust offensive and defensive capabilities.

The Student Cyberspace Security Association, established collaboratively by the School of Cyber Science and Technology and the university's Information Technology Center, is an open student organization for all majors across the university, positioned as a cybersecurity nurturing base. It regularly provides specialized competition training and innovation practice guidance from outstanding faculty members and industry experts. With over 300 current members, the association has grown into a systematic and specialized student team.
